Install LM Studio
LM Studio provides a GUI to download models, load them, and start an OpenAI-compatible Local Server.
Install
- Open https://lmstudio.ai/ and download Windows or macOS.
- Install and launch.
- In-app Discover, search and download a smaller chat model (for path verification first).
Load a model
- Open Chat or the model manager.
- Select a downloaded model and load it into memory (watch VRAM/RAM).
- Confirm the local chat window replies, then start the server for the phone.
